Dear MAP ABCDF members and friends,
The foundation is launching its Cyber Country Program as described below:
1. What is the Cyber Country Program? The program seeks to promote the management of Philippine AgriBusiness and Countryside Development through web interconnectivity and interactivity.
It will feature information on the following: Livelihood and Business Opportunities, Education (formal and non formal) and Advocacy Announcements.
2. Who are involved in the program?
- It is a main project of the Management Association of the Philippines AgriBusiness and Country side Development Foundation which is a private initiative.
- The target beneficiaries of the program are the basic sectors of the Philippine economy such as the farmers, fishermen, laborers, etc.
- The information inputs and announcements can be contributed voluntarily by anyone.
- Likewise, any one who visits the web site can have access to the information provided therein.
3. Why was the program conceived?
- The program seeks to provide up to date, practical, and brief, information that will open up livelihood and business opportunities
- to the readers and referrals.
- It will also make specific announcements about coming and current education and advocacy thrusts.
- This way vital information is conveyed overcoming the barriers of time and space.
4. When will the program run?
- The web framework is already available at the foundation's web site.
- The information may be accessed through computers or 3G cell phones.
- Email and fax announcements will be made to members, guests and friends about the program so that anyone interested can
- start sharing information and announcements as defined in no. 1 above.
- If the information shared is deemed helpful in livelihood, business, education and advocacy, the program's utility value will be affirmed and will thus carry on.
5. Where will the program run?
- The program will be hosted still by the MIS of MIB, the current web host.
- The MAP ABCDF Secretariat will continue to administer the program with the technical assistance of its web host, MIB MIS.
- The members, friends and referrals of the foundation will be the main engine that will provide the content and updating.
- Editorial prerogatives rest on the Administrator who will formulate the appropriate policies.
6. How will the program be sustained?
- Ads will be solicited. The program's utility value will partly be established by the number of hits or visits it is able to generate.
- A free trial period will be provided to pilot test and fully develop the program.
- When web visitors are informed and helped, they will be encouraged to donate to keep the facility going.
